- YOU CAN BE THE CHANGE -
815 million hungry people
in the world today.
Hunger kills more people than AIDS,
tuberculosis and malaria combined
Poor nutrition causes nearly half (45%)
of deaths in children under five - 3.1
million children each year
World hunger is the number one cause of death,
and according to the United Nations, the number
of undernourished people continues to rise.
The numbers are tragic - hundreds of millions of
people living in developing countries survive on
$1.90 a day - or less.
The problem isn’t that there isn’t enough food in
the world - in fact, the world produces enough food
to feed all 7.5 billion people - poverty and hunger
exist in a vicious cycle.
Families living in poverty cannot afford food, and in
turn, without food or proper nutrition, it becomes
difficult for families and individuals to earn more
Which is why - if we end world hunger, many of
the other problems in the world will cease to exist
